Position details
Start Date: Immediate
Location: Work from home
Scheduling: A minimum of 40 hours of lessons per month in the peak teaching hours of 6 pm – 10 pm (Beijing time zone) – 12 pm – 4pm (SA Time ) Additional lessons can be booked on top of this.
Students: You will teach students in the age range 6-12 years.
Training: Training and ongoing professional development throughout the contract.
Remuneration: Set base rate of $7.5 USD ( R 142 ) per hour with additional performance bonuses.
You’ll be employed by The Really Great Teacher Company as an Independent Service Provider
Deliver excellent English language lessons and guidance to students across the globe, while maintaining a fun and engaging classroom environment.
What is needed?
Minimum requirements:
Tertiary education
Accredited CELTO, CELTA, TEFL, TESOL, TEYL or ESL certified (if not, must be willing to obtain certification within the first 3 months of employment)
Professional fluency in English and great command of the language
Highly computer literate
No criminal record
South African Citizen
Great communication skills
Excellent time keeping and punctuality
Able to work shifts
Be willing to work shifts on weekends
A quiet, clean, tidy and well-lit teaching environment
All hardware and technical requirements as detailed below
Advantageous:
Teaching experience strongly preferred, particularly online English teaching
Technical requirements
You must have:
1. PC specifications
Processor: Intel ® Core™ i3 CPU @3.70GHz (4 CPUs) or greater
Memory: 8GB RAM or greater
2. Backup power (non-negotiable)
Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) with battery life up to 4-5 hours (or willing to purchase one if you are hired) due to loadshedding and power outages
3. Internet connection:
Must be a fibre connection
Minimum of 10 mbps upload and download speed
4. Headsets should have a noise cancelling feature
5. Camera should be HD and have anti-glare features
