One dead, multiple injured in collision in Cape Town

Western Cape: At 11H54 Monday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the M15 in Kraaifontein, Cape Town.

Reports indicate that a truck and bakkie were involved in a collision. On scene was Lima Charlie 1, Metro EMS and Rescue, SAPS, City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue and Titanium Securitas.

Medics assessed the scene and found that six patients had sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious. While on the scene, one of the patients went into cardiac arrest.

Despite best efforts by all on the scene, the patient’s condition rapidly deteriorated and was sadly declared deceased.

All the other injured patients were treated on scene and once stabilised were transported by ambulance to the hospital for further care.

In Other News – Kulula offering refunds to irate customers

In a bid to appease irate passengers, Kulula airline is offering refunds. The airline was grounded for five days last week by the Civil Aviation Authority which had flagged safety concerns.

The Comair subsidiary says they are willing to credit tickets for those customers who were affected by the flight cancellations. The CAA had suspended both British Airways and Kulula airlines after Comair failed to meet certain safety regulations. Read More
