KwaZulu-Natal: At 18H15 Tuesday evening, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on Dumisane Makhaye Drive in KwaDabeka, Durban West Region. Reports indicate that the driver of a light motor vehicle with four occupants lost control, slamming into a rock face.
When medics arrived on the scene, they found that three occupants, all adult males, had sustained serious injuries.
A Netcare 911 Rescue Technician with the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services used hydraulic tools to free the occupants of the vehicle. The driver of the car, also an adult male, showed no signs of life and was declared deceased on arrival.
The three seriously injured patients were treated on scene by emergency care practitioners and once stabilised were transported to the hospital for further care.
Circumstances leading up to the collision will be investigated by the Ntuzuma SAPS who were on the scene.
