Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not happy with Anthony Martial’s recent form

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted he’s spoken to Anthony Martial about his recent drop in form and says certain members of his squad need a ‘reality check’.

The Norwegian’s honeymoon period has come crashing down in recent weeks with the Red Devils losing five of their last seven matches in all competitions.

The two victories during that time have been undeserved 2-1 wins against Watford and West Ham at Old Trafford.

Martial scored against the Hornets and won a penalty against the Hammers but his performances have dropped notably over a difficult period for the club.

And Solskjaer, in a move away from his typically-positive demeanour, says he held talks with the Frenchman to let him know his form is not good enough.

‘I’ve spoken to individuals and they know and Anthony is one I’ve spoken to, what we expect from them,’ said Solskjaer.

‘Anthony’s got a massive talent, got a new contract he knows we believe in him, so just keep working.’
