WATCH: Unashamed old man bribes 14-year-old girl to shut up after s.e.xually assaulting her
A teenage girl was on her way to school when a man in her neighbourhood called her to come into his house.
The man, who is old enough to be her grandfather, then s.e.xually assaulted the 14-year-old before giving her money and telling her not to tell anyone what happened!
However, when the girl from Dokodweni, northern KZN, got to school, she told her teachers she had been attacked.
Angry residents then went to the man’s house and beat him up before calling the cops.
In a video of the man sitting in the back of a police van, the man is heard saying he didn’t rape her. A cop’s voice could be heard asking the man what happened. Watch here
He then claims the girl went to his house and if they took her to a doctor, they would find she was not raped. He claims the only thing that happened was that they kissed.
KZN police spokeswoman, Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said a case of sexual assault was opened on 10 May.
She said the victim told the police she was on her way to school when a man known to her called her to fetch money.
“When she got to him, the 58-year-old suspect dragged her into his house and tried to rape her.
The suspect was arrested on the day of the incident,” she said.
“The matter is being investigated by the Eshowe family violence, child protection and s.e.xual offences unit.”
Ngcobo said the suspect was arrested and will appear in court on Thursday, 19 May.
