NPA and Hawks give an update on high-profile cases

The heads of the Hawks and NPA will brief the media on Wednesday.

National Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Lieutenant General Godfrey Lebeya and the National Director of Public Prosecution Advocate Shamila Batohi will give progress on high profile priority cases.

In December, Lebeya said 2020 could see several high-profile corruption cases come before the courts.

He told Karima Brown on The Fix that the Hawks were close to bringing the looting of the VBS bank to trial.

“When we do the investigation, for us the political parties that may be involved is not of any essence. The political parties are not dictating to us, we look at the evidence,” Lebeya said at the time.
