North West makes history as youngest artist on Billboard Hot 100

North West is officially a Billboard Hot 100-charting artist thanks to her featured appearances on dad Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Ty Dolla $ign’s new album, Vultures 1. Proud mom Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday (Feb. 21) to share a screenshot of the track Talking” and its accomplishment, writing, “My baby.

Vultures 1 debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200(dated Feb. 24) with 148,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in its opening week (Feb. 9-15, following its Feb. 10 release), according to Luminate. At just 10 years old, North, the eldest child of Ye and Kardashian (who divorced in 2022), is now one of the youngest acts ever to reach the chart. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, 21 February to share a screenshot of the track “Talking” and its accomplishment.

The skies the limit for Kim and Kanye’s 10-year-old daughter, in her first solo cover story for i-D‘s 2023 issue, North West talked about what she wants to be when she grows up. The pre-teen shared her dreams of becoming a rapper and basketball player amongst other things.

“A basketball player, a rapper, um…Well when I was 7 I wanted to be a boxer. But now I don’t want to be a boxer. I’m going to do art on the side, When I’m like, 13, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies, because everything around here is so expensive. So a rapper, a basketball player, and I’m going to make artwork that I sell”, she shared.

North West also noted that she wants to own her parents’ businesses. Also, one day I want to own Yeezy and SKIMS, and I want to be a business owner”, she noted.
