The Bingu Stadium in Malawi has denied Shepherd Bushiri’s request to use the venue for his crossover service on 31 December.
The service is usually held at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. This year it was to be held in his home country as he is wanted in South Africa.
The stadium says the event is most likely to attract people beyond its normal capacity, and this will contravene COVID-19 regulations.
It also says it will be doing maintenance ahead of a CAF inspection in January.
