Pule Mabe comments on Ngoyi lecture cancellation

ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe has defended the cancellation of the Lillian Ngoyi memorial lecture in Lebowakgomo in Limpopo.

A breach of COVID-19 rules meant the lecture had to be cancelled before it could begin.

The party is being criticized for poor planning around COVID-19 protocols.

“I’m not sure how to make sense to people who love their own organization. What this must be telling you is that the people of this province and region love the ANC,” Mabe said.

“We want our people to understand we appreciate their love and support us, but they need to help us adhere to COVID-19 regulations, we’re going to leave it there. it’s different to the narrative sent it out before elections.”
