The next batch of 80,000 Johnson & Johnson vaccines will arrive on Saturday. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize made the announcement during a Parliamentary debate on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
“We have joined more than 87 countries globally in the next phase of our fight against COVID-19,” Mkhize said. It’s also my pleasure to announce that the next batch of 80,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccines will arrive this Saturday.
By Wednesday, 40k SA healthcare workers will be vaccinated, estimates Health Minister Zweli Mkhize. He’s also revealed to Parliament that 80k more Johnson & Johnson jabs are being delivered on Saturday. #VaccineforSouthAfrica @etvNewsSA

At the same debate, ANC MP Kenneth Leonard Jacobs called on all political parties to put their differences aside and work together in the fight against COVID-19. Jacobs says government has been following scientific advice in the vaccine acquirements and the rollout.
