Nehawu is preparing for a wage strike against the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).
This after the union failed to reach an agreement with the employer.
Workers are demanding an eight percent salary increase but NSFAS is pleading poverty.
It says it has been hit hard by COVID-19 but Nehawu is having none of it, saying NSFAS received money before the nationwide lockdown.
It is also calling for NSFAS administrator Randall Carolissen to step down, accusing him of plunging the student financial aid into crisis.
