Zahara reportedly hospitalized, she may need a transplant

Popular Mzansi star, award-winning singer Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, has reportedly been hospitalised and is receiving treatment at a Johannesburg hospital after falling ill.

Sources have told Zimoja that the Loliwe hitmaker was initially admitted to a medical ward, but later transferred to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as her condition became worse.

“Her liver is severely scarred and she may need a liver transplant,” said one source.

According to another source, her family has left the Eastern Cape to get with her in Gauteng.

“They are also holding prayer vigils for her to get better in both Joburg and East London, where she comes from.”

Her fiancée, Mpho Xaba, is also said to be supportive.

Another source told the publication that Zahara is running low on funds for medical tests, as she allegedly does not have comprehensive medical aid coverage.

When her manager, Oyama Dyobisa, was contacted for a comment, he refused to demand to know who the sources were.

In 2019, Zahara was hospitalized for the same health issue.

At the time, her manager confirmed that she had spent her festive season in hospital after the doctors told her family that her liver was severely damaged.

In addition, the doctors warned her to stay away from alcohol if she wanted to live longer.
