We are the largest, single-source supplier of heavy-duty, auto-electrical components and collision avoidance systems in Southern Africa.

Responsibilities;

Development and implementation of strategic procurement and logistics plans and processes as well as the reviewing of these plans on a yearly basis
Manage and support the process of selecting suppliers of goods and services for all day-to-day business and large tender contracts.
Ensuring supply of quality goods and services at the best price and terms
Interface with internal customers, sales and product divisions, stores, finance, suppliers, inspectors, expeditors and freight forwarders to insure orders/contracts are placed and completed on schedule.
Monitor the procurement function through project completion and turnover, long lead purchase orders/contracts including inspection services, expediting, freight forwarding, shipping and logistics, customs and clearance, taking action as required to ensure project/operational schedules are met.

Resolve complex delivery, quality or other related problems with manufacturers and suppliers. Represent the Company to meet contractual requirements. Understand and require contractors to meet all applicable environmental and safety standards.
Plan, coordinate and actively participate in meetings with potential suppliers, contractors and user groups.
Lead or assist with price negotiations, terms and conditions resolution and quality requirements.
Stay abreast of and evaluate current market conditions and develop new sources of supply as necessary.
Manage and monitor the Group procurement and stores functions including selection, training, motivating and appraising assigned team members.
In collaboration with GM-Sales, develop a team of specialist buyers or Category Managers who will be r
responsible for category and brand management, market research and analysis to dictate purchase levels, co-ordination and product development

Set up a process of review for all Contracts, Supplies and Suppliers ensuring that maximum value for money benefits are achieved through supplier rationalization
Developing an approved Supplier List in line with BBBEE standards
Encourage effective contract management across the business with regular reviews, development of Service Level Agreements and key performance measures
Prepare a quarterly report to the OPSCO team to share your goals and achievements
Preparation and presentation of relevant function-specific reports for management and OPSCO
Initiate and manage product training (new and existing products)
Ensuring that legislative requirements are understood and incorporated into controls
Ensure adherence to the company Policies and Procedures at all times
Ensure that the teams reporting to you, adhere to all the required health and safety standards at all times
Any other legally acceptable instruction/ request that may be required from you
Candidate Requirements
Requirements;

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.

Minimum of 15 years’ relevant purchasing and logistics experience in the Auto Electrical or similar industry.
Must have a thorough knowledge of Auto Electrical terminology.

Experience with SAP Business One preferred.
Must have experience with large purchase orders and contracts.

Must be a leader, good communicator and practice effective interpersonal skills
Must be a good negotiator to act as intermediary between suppliers and user groups.
Must be analytical, organized and efficient.

Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
Must have the ability to adapt to changing job priorities and goals
