National State of Disaster extension is an ANC attempt to loot – DA

The Democratic Alliance says the extension of the national state of disaster is an attempt by the governing party to loot what’s left of relief funding.

The Cabinet approved the extension to 15 October. President Cyril Ramaphosa declared the state of disaster in March.

His announcement came with a travel ban on foreign nationals from high-risk countries such as Italy, Iran and China.

The DA says the lockdown no longer serves any purpose other than destroying businesses and livelihoods. The president is expected to brief the nation next week.
