As a mother, Nambitha says that she tries to be the best example to her son and enjoys every moment of her life as it comes, and with that, and after denying the diva label on various occasions the actress expressed in a recent interview on Trending SA, that she has now excepted it after realizing that it means that she loves herself.
With Nambitha having worked alongside top international actors and being one of Mzansi’s most talented and celebrated actresses it seems that there are many people in the media that expect a certain persona from her.
But the actress says that she is not willing to love herself any less to suit peoples imposed beliefs about her.
“I was raised by a diva, she knew her personal space, she knew her stillness and she understood her needs, and if she needed to communicate them to you, she did that, she taught me to do that, so now a lot of people in my environment and a lot of people in the media environment think it’s ok for me to drink out of a dirty cup…”
Being labelled a diva has even sparked a business idea for the actress who has studied psychology, as she started a company called DivaNexus which focuses on helping women celebrate themselves without shame.
“I started a company called DivaNexus, I think a lot of people misunderstand what self -love is about and because it’s labelled diva, let’s call it that, but let’s own it, let’s love it. If I can bring the diva out of you, and help you celebrate yourself on a daily basis and help you celebrate the small victories in your life, that’s what DivaNexus is about…it’s about honouring yourself even when people think you shouldn’t.”
