‼WARNING‼
Motorists using the N1 between the Pumulani Toll Plaza and the Hammanskraal offramps as well as the N4 between the N1 and the Soshanguve offramps are warned to be vigilant when driving at night. Objects are placed in the road by vagrants leading to damage to vehicles and forcing them to stop.
These incidents have lead to a man being shot, the rape of a woman and a number of armed robberies. Please keep a lookout for these objects, especially near bridges. Should you hit an object and your car can still drive do not stop. Move away from the place as far as you can and call 10111.
Motorists travelling with caravans to the coast must also be vigilant when stopping at filling station on route to the coast. Reports have been received of caravans that are broken into when travellers stop at filling stations to visit restaurants.
