Eastern Cape police baffled by mysterious murder of 31-year-old woman
A real head-scratcher for the police from the Ngxabane Locality. Homicide detectives from the Ngxabane Locality, in Ngcobo, Eastern Cape, are searching for clues in the suspected random murder of a 31-year-old woman.

Eastern Cape village shaken by discovery of woman’s dead body
According to police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, the most important part of the investigation is trying to piece together the final moments that led up to the woman’s murder.
The 31-year-old’s dead body was discovered by locals on an open field, in the Ntibane village, at around 09:00, on Thursday morning.
According to Captain Manatha, statements given by the woman’s in-laws suggest that she may have been accosted by an unknown suspect as she was on her way home, on Wednesday night.
Who was the last person to see her alive?
At this time, Captain Manatha could not confirm whether the victim’s in-laws are being treated as persons of interest in the homicide investigation.
After all, the only account of the 31-year-old’s last moments alive were noted in their statement.
According to the in-laws (their identities have been withheld for the purpose of the investigation), the woman left their residence, at around 19:00 on Wednesday evening, to watch television.
Between then and the time her body was discovered, the woman met her tragic fate. At this time, that 14-hour period is a crucial part of the homicide investigation.
“The deceased had upper-body injuries. The motive behind the murder is not known. The murder was committed at Ngxabane Locality, Ntibane Village, Ngcobo,” Captain Manatha confirmed.
With very little evidence to work with, Eastern Cape police have asked for the assistance of the public.
“Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect/s is kindly requested to contact Dalasile Police Station at 047 5408817 or Crime Stop 08600 10111. The information will be treated confidentially,” Manatha pleaded.
