Former Idols star Mthokozisi Ndaba on alcohol addiction – It’s been a long, painful Journey

Former Idols hopeful Mthokozisi Ndaba has been battling alcohol addiction for the past three years. Speaking to the Daily Sun the singer says he started drinking excessively right after his stint on Idols South Africa due to depression.
Although he started drinking when he was 18 he only started hitting the bottle heavily in 2017, his depression was so bad he even took up smoking as well.
“I realised l had a problem when l started losing belongs was no longer seeing family and friends and spent little time in the studio.
He says he made the decision to quit because of his son and the alcohol ban during Lockdown helped immensely. His wife actress Nandipha Sefoloko says he hasn’t touched alcohol in three months.
“It’s been a long and painful journey for all of us. In addition to quitting alcohol he is also working on new music and his new single Linda is out now.
