Zimbabwe was sent into shock following the sad news that popular celebrity fitness trainer Moana Mimie had died in a car accident.

Moana passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning in the same accident that claimed popular businessman and socialite Genius Kadungure who was affectionately known as Ginimbi.

According to reports, three of his friends also died after a head-on collision with a Honda Fit that saw him being thrown out of the vehicle before it hit a tree and burst into flames.

1. Background

Although she was popularly known as Moana her real name was Michelle Amuli. She said was born and bred in the ghetto.

2. She Was A Video Vixen

Moana Mimie was a video vixen and was featured in a video by award-winning musician Jah Prayzah. Moana appeared in the video for Munyaradzi, one of the popular tracks off Jah Prayzah’s critically acclaimed album Hokoyo.

In an interview, the talented Moana revealed that she did not audition for the part but was headhunted by Jah Prayzah’s team. She said:

I did not go through auditions but Jah Prayazah’s crew looked for me, I’m sure it was through my IG video clips whereby I post and showcase my talent.

Moana also revealed that she appeared in Takura’s Zvemoyo, Enzo Ishall’s Mwenje, and Freeman’s Miridzo.

3. Moana Was Engaged

iHarare previously reported that Moana was off the market after it emerged she was engaged to be married. Being one who liked to keep her private life private, Moana was coy and tight-lipped about revealing the identity of the man who had won her heart.

She however posted a video flaunting her diamond-encrusted engagement ring.

4. Birthday

Sadly for Moana, she celebrated her 26th birthday on 06 November. She was involved in a car accident together with Ginimbi on their way from Dreams Night Club in the early hours of Sunday morning.

5. She Was Into Sport

Despite being a fitness coach, Yogi, and brand influencer, Moana was into basketball. She said she was once captain at both primary and secondary levels.
