Miners on fourth day of sit-in protest

Miners in the North West are locked in the fourth day of a sit-in at the mine.

Orkney mineworkers are protesting what they describe as the arrogant, brutal and exploitative attitude of the mine owners.

At the heart of the dispute is an 8 percent pay increase offered by the mine’s local management.

The mine’s Chinese-based managers rescinded that offer.
