7 Ingredients

– 500ml (2 cups) milk

– 3 sachets Nestle Milky Bar Hot Choc (see notes)

– 4 eggs, separated

– 100g (1/2 cup) caster sugar

– 100g butter, melted, cooled

– 100g (2/3 cup) plain flour

– Icing sugar, to dust

5 Method / Steps

Step 1

Preheat oven to 170C/150C fan forced. Grease a 17 x 27cm (base) slice pan and line with baking paper, allowing the paper to overhang the sides.

Step 2

Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until just hot (do not boil). Empty the Hot Choc sachets into a large heatproof jug. Pour the milk into the jug and stir until well combined. Set aside to cool until lukewarm.

Step 3

Use a balloon whisk to whisk egg yolks and caster sugar in a bowl for 1 minute or until pale and creamy. Add the butter and whisk until combined. Add the flour and gently whisk until just combined. Gradually add the milk mixture, whisking constantly, until combined.

Step 4

Use electric beaters to whisk the egg whites in a clean, dry bowl until firm peaks form. Use a spatula to fold the milk mixture through the egg whites until just combined. Carefully pour into the prepared pan.

Step 5

Bake for 30 minutes or golden brown and still a little wobbly in the centre. Set aside to cool completely. Transfer to a serving board and cut into squares. Dust with icing sugar to serve.
