Feel like being a domestic diva in the kitchen and whipping up a sweet treat but really don’t want too much hassle?
Then this recipe is for you as the whole process will only take 20 minutes. There is a good chance that this quick and easy chocolate cake will become a firm favourite in your baking repertoire.
And the best part of this microwave chocolate cake is that it tastes just a great as a cake baked in the oven!
Microwave Chocolate Cake Recipe
A moist delicious chocolate cake that is ready in under 20 minutes.
1 cup cake flour
3 tablespoons cacao powder
3 teaspoons baking powder
¼ cup coconut oil
1 cup hot water, add 1 tablespoon coffee
pinch of salt
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1.Spray a medium microwave-safe bowl with non-stick spray and set aside.
2.In a mixing bowl, combine the following: Sifted flour, baking powder, salt, and cacao
3.Sprinkle sugar on top, do not mix
4.Make a hole in the middle and pour in the beaten eggs, fold carefully
5.Pour hot water with dissolved coffee and coconut oil over the mixture. Fold carefully until mixture is smooth. If using a whisk, do not whisk, use as a spoon to fold the mixture.
6.Cover and cook in the microwave on high for 6 minutes, or until cake springs back when touched. Since microwaves cook differently, adjust the cooking time accordingly.
7.Eat warm from the oven or let it cool and ice with your choice of icing.
To make brownies: while the cake is still warm, heat 1 cup milk with 2 teaspoons cacao, 1 teaspoon butter with 1 tablespoon honey in the microwave. Pour it over the cake while still warm.
TIP: Add 1 teaspoon vinegar to take away baking powder taste.
