The midfielder has struggled to find form this season under Jose Mourinho and Solskjaer.
Matic was axed from Solskjaer’s Manchester United XI against Barcelona in the week, however, the Serbian was recalled to the line up at Everton.
United had a disastrous first half at Goodison Park, going 2-0 down thanks to goals from Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Sigurdsson’s long-range effort could have been stopped by Matic, however, the midfielder failed to press the Iceland star, who fired past David De Gea.
And United fans took to social media to slam Matic, claiming Solskjaer must sell him this summer.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “If we don’t sell matic this summer, then….”
Another added: “Every time they play they get worst and worst good bye to top 4 useless f***ing players like smallings matic and jones sell them.”
“YOUNG, lingard, Matic, smalling, Jones the 5 worst players in the team. Sell them first then move on to the likes of Sanchez, Herrera, Fred, mata, Rojo, darmian,” another United fan said.
A fellow United fan said: “Sell Matic @ManUtd !!!!!”
“Sell Matic, rather play with 10,” quipped another supporter.
Another Red Devils fan simply put: “SELL MATIC TO THE RETIREMENT HOME.”
United hero Gary Neville launched a scathing attack on his old side ahead of their clash with Everton, claiming they simply haven’t been good enough this season.
“Yeah I’m simmering to be honest with you and my blood’s about to boil,” Neville said.
“I didn’t buy into that these players were always fantastic when they started to win for Ole in those two, three months.
“If you think about the game we did against Liverpool a few weeks ago where everything was perfect, Ole had got the players playing again, Jose Mourinho was a bump, and basically it was just down to Jose.
“Now we’re seeing what Ole talked about on Friday is that there is a reality check and I think it’s a reality check for all of us.
“What Louis [Saha] alludes to there about players not running back properly, I went to Barcelona on Wednesday night and watched the game and I saw players pretending to run back.
“You know, making it look like they’re running back quickly, doing that little jogging one. Oh it’s rubbish.
“And I think what we’re seeing now is what the players are.”
