SA lockdown: Long-distance travel restrictions to be eased

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula says there will be amendments to long-distance travel. He says this will apply to people travelling under exceptional circumstances.

Mbalula says he has been in communication with Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Police Minister Bheki Cele on determining long-distance travel regulations.

“So that by today before the end of the day we gazette the direction that will enable long-distance travel particularly public transport for people to be catered for in terms of long-distance travelling,” Mbalula said. Coronavirus Hotline Number: 0800 029 999 from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
