Limpopo police have launched a manhunt after a missing 12-year-old boy was found, killed in a ritual-related murder, and dumped at a nearby graveyard.
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said the boy had allegedly went to a toilet when he disappeared on Thursday night, 11 February.
His body was allegedly discovered by a passerby on Friday, 13 February, in Mmotong wa Perekisi village outside Polokwane. The passerby then alerted other residents before the police were called.
Ngoepe told the publication that when the police arrived at the scene, they found the body with multiple injuries and some body parts missing.
“The preliminary police investigations revealed that the deceased was last seen on Thursday going to relief himself. The motive behind this incident may be ritual-related.”
“The suspects involved are still unknown, and no arrests have been made,” Ngoepe added.
