Government looks at legalising s.e.x work

The government is holding consultative meetings looking at the decriminalization of s.e.x work.

Selling and buying s.e.x is currently illegal in the country.

Deputy Justice Minister, John Jeffery, will meet stakeholders including religious and traditional leaders.

The Commission for Gender Equality and the National Aids Council are in favour of decriminalizing s.e.x work.

Over the years, there has been an outcry over the failure to legalize pr0stitution.

S.e.x workers say they are subjected to violence and discrimination and are targeted by police.
