Actress Kayise Ngqula has filed for a protection order against her brother-in-law, Tawanda Sibanda. The former Our Perfect Wedding host lost her husband, Farai Sibanda, in June. The couple, who were married for 10 months at the time, were involved in a horrific car crash on Father’s Day. Farai died of his injuries a few days later. Kayise was also seriously injured in the accident and sustained several fractures. Her recovery has not been easy and the family drama hasn’t helped.
According to Sowetan, Kayise has accused her brother-in-law of harassing her, going so far as to say he is a danger to her life. Things were so bad that she approached the Randburg Magistrate’s Court for help. Her husband’s family is allegedly demanding that all his assets be shared between his three children.
Kayise and Farai have a son together, but he also has two other children from previous relationships. She is refusing to release the single beds, a TV and some of the furniture the family said she must give to our kids. She wants everything for herself,” one of the baby mama’s told the publication.
The family allegedly also wants Tawanda to continue staying at the house the actress and her husband were renting in Northriding. According to the Sowetan, Kayise kicked him out and changed all the locks after the funeral.
She told the paper she had indeed filed for a protection order against Tawanda but declined to comment further. Despite the drama with her in-laws, Kayise is focusing on her recovery. She recently revealed that she has started trying to walk again after the accident.
“Today marks exactly 2 months since I was severely injured in a car accident leaving me wheelchair-bound because of multiple fractures on my body. This here is my fight to get back on my feet accompanied by my physiotherapist a few weeks ago… today I made the first attempt to walk on my own with no moon boot or crutches and out of hospital,” she wrote. Kayise also remembered her husband in a sweet post. A King and his Queen… till the very last day we stuck by each other!” she captioned a picture with Farai.
