LAFC coach Steve Cherundolo signs contract extension

Steve Cherundolo, who guided Los Angeles FC to an MLS crown in his first season as coach and into this year’s final in his second, has signed a multi-year contract extension. LAFC announced late on Wednesday that the 44-year-old American, a former US national team defender and captain of German side Hannover, would stay with the club. “Together with our phenomenal fans, we remain hungry and prepared for more.LAFC, which hired Cherundolo in January 2022 to replace Bob Bradley, also reached the final of this year’s CONCACAF Champions League, losing to Mexican side Leon.

“In two years with LAFC, Steve has proven to be one of the top coaches in our league,” LAFC general manager John Thorrington said.
