Our client based in the Johannesburg East Rand area seeks to employ a Lab Analyst.

Key Areas of responsibility:

Ensure that selected raw materials, intermediates and finished products, including products from contract testing are tested according to prescribed specifications within a given time frame, using wet/dry chemical and instrumental techniques
Non routine samples from potential suppliers will have to be treated in the same manner
Make adjustments to production batches when necessary in conjunction with the Laboratory Supervisor and Production Personnel
Sampling and testing of water for chemistry and microanalysis
Co-ordinate the input and output of all raw materials, intermediates and finished products
Compilation and interpretation of all test results onto analytical report sheets and data trend cards
Prepare and standardize volumetric solutions and titrimetric indicators
Ensure that laboratory equipment is calibrated at regular intervals as prescribed by GMP and in accordance with MCC practices
Filing of all retention samples in an orderly logical manner to enable prompt retrieval when necessary
Ensure that adequate supply and stock of all laboratory consumables are maintained at all times
Ensure that sufficient quantities of laboratory working standards are available for use prior to expiry dates and filing of all relevant certificates of analysis (COA)
Ensure that good housekeeping and safety standards are maintained at all times within the laboratory i.e Principles of good laboratory practice (GLP) being followed

Minimum position requirements:

Matric with Maths and Science – Science is essential
ND in Analytical Chemistry
2 years experience in Solids/Pharmaceutical/Manufacturing environment
Computer literate
