KZN teacher shot dead in front of primary school learners

Fears over safety and security have led to some parents keeping their children from school at Phikiswayo Primary school in Ntuzuma, northern Durban. This follows the brutal murder of teacher Dudu Khumalo at school yesterday.

Khumalo was shot and killed in front of young learners. Principal Mthokozisi Mchunu says psychological support will be provided for all learners.

“They saw what happened and they engaged the staff and they said they want to take the learners out of the school, and it was done by force. One would like to emphasise to our parents that they need to bring back the learners, understanding that it’s a short term.
