Heavy rains have caused flooding and damage to homes and infrastructure.
The SA Weather Service has issued an orange level nine warning for northern KZN and level five for eThekwini.
A storm’s impact is ranked from green to red.
Green means a low chance, while red means a severe impact is anticipated.
A scale of 1 to 10 is used to determine the likeliness of a storm.
A Level 9 warning means a storm is highly likely.
Residents are urged to heed the weather warning and be vigilant.
