Kelly Khumalo’s feud with her sister Zandie is the talk of the Twitterverse, and some believe that things could get uglier. Fans of slain soccer star Senzo Meyiwa are convinced that their falling out could lead to more details about the day he was fatally shot at the Khumalo family home in Vosloorus on October 26, 2014. Despite police not naming Kelly and Zandie as suspects, many South Africans do not believe that a robbery took place.
Conspiracy theorists believe that there is more to the story and believe that the sisters are the key to cracking the cold case. Both Kelly and Zandie have denied having any involvement in Senzo’s murder and have long maintained that he was killed in a robbery gone wrong. They made headlines this week after the Sunday Sun claimed that Zandie’s husband, Mhlo Gumede, was using Kelly’s name to swindle promoters out of thousands of rands.
Event organiser Bhekani Ndlovu claimed that he paid Mhlo R15 000 to secure a gig with Kelly and Vusi Nova. But it turns out that neither Kelly nor Vusi knew about the alleged gig. Kelly released a statement distancing herself from the alleged scam. The singer’s team said they had no knowledge whether Mhlo had used her name for financial gain or not but made it clear he was not her booking agent. With all due respect, Mhlo Gumede is my sister’s husband And manager NOT my bookings manager nor part of my team, never was and never will be, so whatever dealings you may have with him Do NOT involve me,” Kelly wrote on Instagram.
Zandie hit back with a statement of her own. She announced that she was “divorcing” her toxic” sister. This hurts because personally I have been to hell and back with her… The first and last time I went to jail was because of her, the first time I was question by police and even put on a lie detector test it was because of her, today I am known as an accessory to murder and it’s because of her,” she wrote. Zandie added that she knew things about Kelly that would make people’s jaws drops.
Despite the shocking statement, Zandie stated that she was not trying to be malicious, because she loves her sister “dearly”. I just wish that one day she will accept that she needs help and actually get help coz [I] love her [sic]. Senzo Meyiwa started trending on Twitter after Zandie released the eyebrow raising statement. Can Zandile spill the bins already… I am so ready to drop my jaws. We don’t care much about their divorce as siblings, we only want the truth about that fateful night of #SenzoMeyiwa’s death,” one Twitter user wrote.
