Kaizer Chiefs v Orlando Pirates Soweto Derby tickets sold out in two hours

Kaizer Chiefs v Orlando Pirates Soweto Derby tickets sold out in two hours. It took just two hours for all general tickets to be sold out for the Telkom Knockout semi-final between the two Soweto giants, which will take place on November 24 (3.30pm kickoff) at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

We know that Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates can pack out FNB Stadium, but the interest in the next instalment of the Soweto Derby reached new heights on Friday.

The usual venue, Soccer City, has been pre-booked by the Motsepe Foundation for a national prayer meeting on that weekend.

But the soccer fans of KwaZulu-Natal made sure that they got their hands on the much sought-after tickets on Friday, with the PSL announcing that the tickets were sold out “inside two hours” after going on sale at 2 pm. The PSL will hope that there is no violence that will affect the game for the 56 000-capacity crowds, though, following the chaotic scenes when Chiefs lost 2-0 to Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup semi-final in April.

The league also issued a warning on Friday that “anyone who is selling tickets from now onwards will be selling fake tickets.

“The PSL, together with the police and security clusters, will adopt a zero tolerance to fake tickets, and to those who will be trying to resell tickets in and around the stadium.

“This past weekend, six people were arrested at Moses Mabhida – and four of those are still in jail after they were denied bail.” The PSL said that hospitality packages will be opened for sale on Monday.

Milutin Sredojevic’s Pirates won the last Soweto Derby 2-1 against Chiefs last month.
