Kaizer Chiefs to reveal new signing after COSAFA?

Zambian striker Lazarous Kambole’s move to Kaizer Chiefs is believed to be as good as done, as the Soweto giants appear to have edged their PSL rivals to his signature, with indications that the player has agreed personal terms with the club.

Interest in the player’s services from clubs around the continent has skyrocketed during the last few months following his impressive performances in Zambia’s top flight. AmaZulu, Orlando Pirates and Chiefs were all reportedly interested in landing his signature and it now seems as though he will be sporting the Amakhosi jersey next season.

The 25-year-old forward, who is on the books of Zesco United, has scored close to 50 goals in all competitions for the Zambian club over the last 24 months, and his form looks set to secure him a dream PSL move.

As confirmed to the Siya crew by sources in the know, Amakhosi and Zesco have already finalised their talks and reached an agreement, with the parties said to have been waiting for the conclusion of the COSAFA Cup in Durban in order to finalise the deal.

“Lazarous Kambole’s move to Kaizer Chiefs is as good as done. It’s a deal that was agreed on by the parties involved before the end of the season,” a source told the Siya crew.

“The agreement has been for Chiefs to officially unveil the player themselves sometime after the COSAFA Cup,” added the source.

The COSAFA Cup final will be played tomorrow, with Kambole’s Zambia taking on Botswana in the final at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium, and Chiefs are expected to announce the signing after the continental showpiece.
