Nkayi who hails from Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape furthered her studies at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, where she graduated with a degree in International Media Studies, after finishing her matric. After graduating from abroad, Nkayi enrolled at Rhodes University where she graduated with a degree in Journalism.

Since her divorce, the media personality is always seen rocking the best outfits and glowing on Idols and social media.
