JMPD officer shot and injured in Johannesburg CBD

A Johannesburg Metro Police Department officer has been shot and injured in a robbery in the Johannesburg CBD.
Police were responding to an armed robbery at a restaurant.
Suspects opened fire, hitting an officer in the leg.
He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The City’s Public Safety MMC, David Tembe, has assured residents the CBD will be made safer.
Around 2,000 officers have been deployed to the crime-ridden area.
