
Johannesburg firefighters say they feel unsafe when they do their duties. There have been numerous reports of firefighters and their engines being attacked.
The firefighters have taken to the streets, calling for protection from law enforcement officials when they’re called out to fires.
They also voiced their concern about the lack of fire engines in the city.
The City of Johannesburg has lauded the work done by firefighters, but they say their fears are not being heard.
The city has 10 days to respond to the firefighters’ demands.
