Water cuts in parts of JHB from Wednesday

According to Johannesburg Water, residents have been implored to do everything they can to stay in touch with the latest developments. A list of available water tankers for affected regions has since been shared online.

“A planned ‘water tie-in’ will take the system offline for most of Wednesday and almost all of Thursday. Some regions will be left with no running water. Placement points for water tankers have been listed by the City.”

“Residents are encouraged to subscribe to Johannesburg Water’s website, or SMS notification service, for alerts on service interruptions. More information can be obtained on Twitter (@jhbwater) or Facebook (Johannesburg Water). Johannesburg residents will need to fill up their buckets and containers because the city will be experiencing water cuts from Wednesday.

This will go on for more than a day. Johannesburg water says it’s doing this to tie in new pipelines to existing mainlines.
