James Gunn Says Booster Gold Is The Most Requested DC Character

DC is going through a brand-new era for its filmmaking division. Fortunately, one of the new DCU leads, James Gunn, has been paying attention to the fans’ requests and has discovered their most anticipated superhero is actually Booster Gold.

Michael Jon Carter, also known as Booster Gold, is a self-proclaimed “superhero” who actually comes from the future. Borrowing futuristic technology and going back in time, Booster Gold wanted to relive the glory days of DC superheroes. Booster Gold’s most prominent appearance was in the animated Justice League: Unlimited television series that debuted on Cartoon Network. DC is known for producing animated content, which is why they are in the final steps of closing a deal with Amazon.

Fortunately for fans of the animated division, Gunn confirmed via Twitter that the movies, animation, and games will be part of a connected DC Universe moving forward. Gunn is very responsive to fans on Twitter and is known for not holding back the truth when it comes to answering questions on upcoming projects. Gunn responded to a fan on Twitter who was hoping that Booster Gold would be used. “Interestingly, Booster was the MOST requested character when I asked people on Mastodon what character they’d most like to see on screen,” Gunn said. “I’m not creating stories by public vote, but I found it fascinating nevertheless.”

While this is no confirmation, it’s good to know that Gunn does see what fans are asking for. Knowing what the fans want might be the only way for certain characters to get screen time. There’s no telling when or if this will happen for sure, but it’s good to know that Gunn is actually taking fans’ feedback into consideration for whatever plans he is cooking up. Recently, Gunn may have teased a Kingdom Come project while letting everyone know he’s hard at work planning the next steps.

It looks as though DC is in going to be going a different route moving forward. However, one thing that needs to happen is to make amends for the talent that suffered due to the previous leadership of executives like Walter Hamada. Ray Fisher needs a chance to return and receive the necessary accommodations to make up for the wrongdoings he faced. The actor spoke up, but nobody listened. Fisher delivered a great performance as Cyborg, loved the lore, and was enthusiastic about the work. If things with DCU are going to move forward, then it needs to bring back Fisher’s character, who was central to the DC storyline.
