Pre-orders for the cheaper iPhone open on 19th October (this Friday) and pricing starts at R15 999 for the 64GB iteration of the smartphone. The payment plan options are part of the FNB Credit Card Payment plan and are priced according to a 37- month contract.
The iStore in South Africa announced pricing for the iPhone XR, which cost users R15 999.
“Pre-orders will be open for cash purchases and on iStore’s revised payment plan in partnership with FNB Credit Card, allowing customers to pay off their iPhone at a reduced interest rate. New to iStore, customers can now also pre-order their contract upgrade for iPhone XR on Vodacom and MTN through the online store,” said iStore in a statement.
iStore added that online contract upgrades for both Vodacom and MTN for iPhone Xs and Xs Max will also be available from Friday. The iPhone XR uses Apple’s own Liquid Retina display which measures in at 6.1 inches.
While the handset is lighter on specifications than its XS peers, it does house the A12 Bionic chip that is featured in the XS and XS Max.
Pre-orders can be made via the iStore website on Friday, 19th of October but the handset will be available from 26th October.
