Inventory Stores Supervisor wanted: Salary R20 000 to R25 000 per month

Overall management of the store

Supervise the day to day operations of the Stores team

Liaise with the different departments and customers

Respond immediately to production material requests to minimize production downtime and support productivity metrics

Ensure stock is ordered on time and within planned intervals to avoid stock shortages

Prioritize work in each area to ensure work is completed as scheduled

Ensure all work orders are picked promptly and report any issues or shortages to the Procurement Manager immediately

Ensure Stores Clerks have packed stock away, adjusted the kardex cards and performed 5S duties

Manage the procedures for the physical receipt, issues, despatch processing, and storage of all raw material and buyouts entering and leaving the Stores department

Manage headcount to minimize costs and maximize productivity to ensure all departmental activities are performing at acceptable levels of throughput and accuracy

Be able to provide support to stores staff; system transactions, material movement, work order picking and staging, and production support

Prevent all personnel from entering Stores without the assistance of a Material Handler trained to work in that area

Prepare products for dispatch

Monitors daily transfers of all materials as they are transacted in the department to the different warehouses

Ensure all issues and receipts are scanned daily

Fully manage the scanning system. All transactions in stores must be full automated

Monitor, check, approve, post –final sign of by stores manager

Inventory management

Assist the Procurement manager with Inventory planning

Continually looks for ways to improve on existing methods, techniques,and practices to improve the transaction of inventory correctly

Ensure all receipt paperwork is checked for errors and audited to ensure accurate receipt of inventory

Conduct daily cycle counts

Report daily metrics on Inventory Accuracy, and track issues to identify improvement opportunities

Ensure Stores Clerks are performing system transactions for all inventory movement in all relevant areas with the plant

Supervise quarterly stock takes

Conduct warehouse transfers

WIP control

Reorganizes stock room to accommodate additional inventory

Suggests to store manager new products or supplies for regular inventory based on analysis of sales statistics

Manages, stores, and/or returns overstock

Processes the return of defective or expired items

Packs up items for return and affixes shipping labels

Ensures that stockroom is well organized and that all stored items are accounted for

Employs computerized inventory software to keep track of all store supplies

Reviews and analyzes sales reports and checks them against physical store inventory

Addresses and resolves discrepancies in inventory and sales reports

Implements improved security and storage procedures to reduce loss and theft

Assists in maintaining organization of stock on the sales floor

Provides customer assistance as necessary

Attends store meetings

Works with store’s general manager to devise ways to maintain inventory control & reduce theft

Communicate stock levels to the purchase manager weekly

House keeping

Maintain the cleanliness and housekeeping of the facility through audits and observations providing essential and constructive feedback to teammates

Uphold all Occupational Health & Safety standards applicable to the responsibilities above

Quality management practice in line with ISO9001

Follow all company rules and policies

Staff management

Assist Stores Procurement manager with quarterly performance evaluations with your staff to encourage good behavior and results and to advise and provide constructive input on improvement opportunities

Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency

General

The successful candidate must be able to work during weekends, public holidays, December Holidays and be on call when required

Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Matric

Diploma or Degree in Inventory or Logistics Management

3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Computer literate

MS Office -Excel and Word

Syspro knowledge will be an advantage

Own transport

Willing to work overtime and shut down (December). Apply Now
