International Relations Minister, Naledi Pandor, hopes to change Britain’s mind about reintroducing the travel ban.

The ban follows the detection of a new super COVID-19 variant in South Africa.

South African was removed from the UK’s red list in October.

Scientists have now detected a new variant which some describe as the worst they have ever seen.

After weeks of plummeting COVID-19 numbers, there was an unexpected spike in cases.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will meet with the National Coronavirus Command Council on Sunday.
