Eskom CEO welcomes Joburg energy independence efforts

Eskom CEO Andre De Ruyter says he welcomes the City of Johannesburg’s efforts to become energy independent.

Johannesburg plans to move away from Eskom’s grid.

The city’s power supplier, City Power, currently sources 90% of its electricity from Eskom and says this is no longer viable.
