A cash-in-transit heist occurred on Matlala Road, approximately 62km outside Polokwane, in Limpopo province at around 5.30am on Monday morning.
The robbers apparently fired several shots before blowing up the cash-in-transit van before taking off with an undisclosed amount of money.
One person was injured in the heist.
