* Make bookings with liners for Air, Road & Sea y
* Request rates from liners
* Seek out alternate service providers
* Quote clients
* Follow up with clients regarding quotes, shipments, ect
* Apply for BIETC, ECTN Certificates, Importer / Exporter Codes on behalf of client, etc.
* Follow complete process From opening a File to closure of files
* Liaise with clients daily
* Request required documents from clients to complete entire Import / Export process
* Shipment tracking daily
* Dispatching drivers for collections & deliveries
* Ensure GRV’s are accurate for every shipment
* Take minutes at meetings & ensure all staff are clear of deliverables from meeting
* Supervise & monitor drivers
* Apply & Complete Vendor, Data base & Tender forms
Key notes & points that will be expected :
– you will be assessed from day one
– your full attention to detail will be required
– you will be required to read & understand our processes within the 1st few days of employment
– you will be expected to understand within the 1st week of employ how MEKLUC FREIGHT operates & services clients
– it is imperative that you fully understand our daily step by step process & procedures. This will ensure our clients are maintained & serviced.
– you are encouraged to bring your data base of clients & convert possible sales leads of your own of which you will receive 10% commition for every successful conversion
– you will be expected to give instruction & take instruction

– be willing to find answers
– read, understand, follow through
– report to work daily & on time
– be able to read situations & circumstances e.g. If urgent shipment comes in at 16h59 complete export or import before departing for the day. Should Friday be busy come in on Saturday without being asked to complete tasks at hand
– provide management daily report without excuses
– track all shipments 1st thing on arrival at work & notify clients without delay
– ensure collections are booked with in-house or external drivers promptly being same day as client advises
– ensure bookings are made with Airliners, Road Haulers & Sea liners timeously
– seek out alternate, cheaper, reliable service providers: Air, Road & Sea
– take time to read our in-house notes & ensure notes are followed
– take time to read our Shipshape manual until good understanding of system is obtained by self
– ENSURE ALL CHECKLISTS are current with industry standards regular
– Update checklists & procedures whenever there are changes & new requirements

Salary: R6,500.00 to R10,000.00 /month
