Police Minister, Bheki Cele has commended the SAPS Special Task Force for the swift rescue of two ministers and a deputy who were being held hostage by the Liberation Struggle War Veterans last night.
Minister Mondli Gungubele says last night’s hostage drama was completely uncalled for in the midst of a cordial dialogue with the Liberation Struggle War Veterans.
Up to 56 members of the movement were arrested on kidnapping charges.
The minister was held hostage together with the Defence Minister, Thandi Modise, and her deputy.
