An identity theft syndicate involving at least four former Home Affairs officials has been cracked wide open at the Randfontein Branch in Johannesburg’s West Rand.
At least 200 illegal immigrants have benefited from being fraudulently awarded legitimate South African identity documents and birth certificates.
This was done through assigning South African mothers additional children they don’t have.
