The EFF is promising improved healthcare facilities should they win the local elections.
EFF leader Julius Malema over the weekend led the campaign in Limpopo.
Malema said, “Cuba is one of the poorest countries in the world, yet every street has a doctor to take care of people. They can detect and treat illnesses early. But in South Africa, our people are dying young because there’s no primary healthcare.”
“Many women die from cancers that could have been treated if detected earlier. If we had good clinics to go to, they could offer treatment earlier so our people can live longer. We want our people to live longer.”
“We’ve got a lot to offer. When we speak of clinics we’re not speaking about luxury, we’re talking basic services. Currently the elderly don’t want to go to public hospitals. They’re afraid they won’t come back due to the poor treatment at those facilities. So with the EFF, clinics will have the latest technology and equipment that’s because we have a youthful leadership. We have vision, understanding, and a better world outlook.”
