The Hawks have confirmed the arrest of senior officials in two Free State municipalities.
Dihlabeng Municipality’s corporate services director Seipati Mabula was arrested for defeating the ends of justice while acting Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality Manager Mbongiseni Nyembe was arrested for fraud.
The two reappeared in the Bethlehem Regional Court following a probe by the Clean Audit Task Team deployed in the Free State.
The pair will appear in court again on the 13 June.
