Communications Minister Nomvula Mokonyane made the announcement during a post-Cabinet briefing.

Lebeya replaces Yolisa Matakata, who was appointed acting Hawks head by former police minister Fikile Mbalula.

This after Berning Ntlemeza’s appointment to the role was ruled irregular and unlawful by a court.
